The Patrick Henry Patriots will head out to challenge the Pettisville Blackbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.
Patrick Henry will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Evergreen on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Patrick Henry got a massive performance out of Mariah Boyer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Boyer a new career-high. Elisiana Wyandt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Pettisville came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bombers.
Macy Hoylman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Hoylman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jalyssa Molina, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pettisville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Pettisville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Patrick Henry, their record is now 13-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Patrick Henry hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. However, it's not like Pettisville struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Patrick Henry's way against Pettisville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Patrick Henry made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
