Hobart is 2-8 against Munster since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Brickies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Munster will be up against a hot Hobart squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Brickies never let Merrillville get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Saturday.
Gabe Gutierrez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Donio Pimentel was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ben Sullivan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Munster had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Hammond Bishop Noll. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Bishop Cappetto looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Mason Jarrett and Nick Crowley did most of the damage at the plate: Jarrett went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI, while Crowley got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Donovan Craig was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Hobart's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Munster, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Hobart beat Munster 10-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Brickies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
