If the Kettering Captains were riding high off their 52-30 takedown of the Holly Bronchos last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kettering fell just short of Notre Dame Prep by a score of 47-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Kettering of the 35-21 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Notre Dame Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazelle Yaldo, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yaldo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Whalen, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Kettering has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kettering the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Walled Lake Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Walled Lake Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mott at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
