The Navajo Prep Eagles stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Tohatchi 81-61. The victory was familiar territory for Navajo Prep who now have eight in a row.
Leading Navajo Prep to victory were Xavier Nez and Jude Thomas. Nez scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Thomas scored 27 points along with seven steals and six assists. Nez hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Jakobie Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Tohatchi lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talan Long. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dawes, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Navajo Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Tohatchi, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Navajo Prep will take on Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Navajo Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 781 points over their last ten matches. As for Tohatchi, they will head out on the road to challenge Crownpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crownpoint is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, meaning Tohatchi will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
