The St. Edward Beavers scored the most points they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding  59-27 win over Elba at home. The  victory was some much needed relief for St. Edward as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 St. Edward was led to victory by  Anthony Reader and  Marcos Paez.  Reader  scored 19 points along with five  steals, while  Paez  scored 15 points along with eight  rebounds and five  steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which  Reader has scored at least 25% of St. Edward's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ryan Cumming, who  scored six points along with 12  rebounds and four  blocks.
 St. Edward's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Elba, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that  loss, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 St. Edward will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santee on January 5, 2024. As for Elba, they will head out on the road to face off against Burwell at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Nebraska (Burwell is ranked 262nd, while Elba is ranked 281st).
