Clear Falls suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Clear Springs 85-43. While losing is never fun, Clear Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while Clear Springs is ranked 99th).
Meanwhile, Dickinson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Clear Springs by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite their defeat, Dickinson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Qasim Boyd, who scored 22 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Boyd is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Chong, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Clear Falls' defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-20. As for Dickinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.
Clear Falls suffered a grim 53-32 defeat to Dickinson in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chong, who scored 20 points along with five steals.
