Bernard McDondle ran for three touchdowns and
Michael Burns added two as well as
Columbine (Littleton, Colo.) beat
Grand Junction (Colo.) 37-20 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a McDondle touchdown run in the first quarter, the Rebels led 10-6 at the half.
Columbine expanded its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Burns touchdown run.
Tyler Heinsma made a difference for the Tigers. The junior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 15 on the year.
Led by
Austin Berk, Grand Junction came in surrendering 17.6 points per game this season. GJ struggled against the Littleton school's offense, which entered the game scoring 30.2 points per game.
The loss comes after Grand Junction defeated Grand Junction Central 42-12 last week.
