Despite a strong season so far, Castro Valley has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They received a  blow  on Thursday as they fell  42-24 to the Encinal Jets.
 Castro Valley's loss  came despite strong showings from  Kiana Ayllon and  Mya Williams.  Ayllon picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while  Williams threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. A healthy portion of that aerial production (83 yards to be exact) also went to  Naomi Chew.
 Castro Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as  Ava Kim,  Ayllon,  Gabrielle Rogge,  and  Marley Sepulveda picked up one apiece.
 Castro Valley's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 7-2. As for Encinal,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-1.
 Castro Valley has already played their next game,  an  18-0  win against Piedmont on the 8th. As for Encinal, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  contest,  a  40-12  victory against Arroyo on the 8th.
