It was a good run, but the Bonner Springs Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 79-71 to Metro Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (63), Bonner Springs still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Bonner Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kalen Streit. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Streit has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Corey Rolfe jr., who scored 16 points.
Bonner Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Metro Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
Bonner Springs will head out on the road to square off against Turner at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Bonner Springs is ranked 101st). As for Metro Academy, they will face off against Atchison at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Atchison is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
