Forestview gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They secured a 67-62 W over the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered an 84-82 loss the last time these two teams met.

Zyir Sowell was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 67% from the field to rack up 24 points. Another player making a difference was Semaj Hart, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards.

When it comes to explaining why Bessemer City lost, don't look at Tristen Gordon. Despite the final result, he posted 25 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Raheem McClure, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 14 points.

Bessemer City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-42 defeat against Ashbrook on the 19th. Hopefully Forestview paid attention to the Yellow Jackets' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
