Football Recap: Bethesda Academy Skates Past Pee Dee Academy with Ease

Bethesda Academy hadn't done well against Pee Dee Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Blazers claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over the Golden Eagles. The Blazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 25 points or more this season.

Bethesda Academy found their leader in sophomore Jordan Turner, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards and a pair of TDs. The Blazers' leading receiver Ralo Wesley was Turner's top target yet again, picking up 101 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bethesda Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Bethesda Academy's record now sits at 8-0. As for Pee Dee Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Looking ahead, Bethesda Academy will challenge St. John's Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will take on Dillon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
