Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Gray's Creek Bears, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 57-13 loss at the hands of Cleveland. Gray's Creek was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Davis, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Reed, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Jackson Byrd, who threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Byrd is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Tyson Stokes also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Gray's Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Cleveland, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Gray's Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cleveland will be playing in front of their home fans against Leesville Road at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leesville Road is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
