The Liberty Lancers lost against the Hays Indians back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Liberty falling 62-43. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 203rd in Colorado, while Hays is ranked 84th in Kansas).
Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from London Praytor, who scored 18 points along with three blocks and two steals. Another player making a difference was Cameron Cunningham, who scored 15 points.
Liberty's loss was their 17th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Hays, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Liberty will head out on the road to square off against Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hays, they will be playing at home against Great Bend at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
