In what's become a running theme this season, the Sunnyslope Vikings gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 80-51 victory over O'Connor at home. Sunnyslope pushed the score to 56-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.
Sunnyslope found their leader in underclassman Rider Portela, who scored 22 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Hartman, who scored 13 points.
Sunnyslope has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for O'Connor, they dropped their record down to 18-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Sunnyslope will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge. O'Connor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
