In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 32-31 win over Kansas City East Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Veritas Christian also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Rachael Gaspers, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian's points. Nicole Gaspers was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 20 rebounds.
Brayisha Avery and Mia Eshleman certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Avery scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Eshleman scored 11 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 35.5% of Kansas City East Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Veritas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Veritas Christian will head out on the road to face off against Wichita HomeSchool at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wichita HomeSchool is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against The Daniel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
