The Kaufman Lions will challenge the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Kaufman turned things around against Terrell on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-4 victory.
Trinity Frye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Abeni Nava was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Waters, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Nava wasn't the only one making solid contact: Kaufman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Midlothian Heritage waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Lions.
Trinity Chittamai made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Taylor Bilderback and Rylee Parrish did most of the damage at the plate: Bilderback scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Parrish scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Bilderback is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Amiya VanMeter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Midlothian Heritage pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Kaufman, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14-2.
Kaufman might still be hurting after the 17-7 defeat they got from Midlothian Heritage in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
