Fisher is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Blue Ridge is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bunnies will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Fisher has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Friday, Fisher wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge hadn't done well against Arcola recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Purple Riders, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 10, 2024.
Ellie Schlieper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Karlee Fenton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Addison Roos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Fisher, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11-1.
Everything went Fisher's way against Blue Ridge when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Fisher made off with a 7-1 victory. Do the Bunnies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
