The Lawrence Central Bears shot 58.82% from beyond the arc for ten threes to get past the Indianapolis Howe Hornets this past Saturday. Lawrence Central put a hurting on Indianapolis on the road to the tune of 89-33. That's another feather in the cap for the Bears, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
The Lawrence Central offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 44 points. Indianapolis wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 44-20 heading into the break. The offense for Lawrence Central continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 45 points to put the game away.
Lawrence Central's senior Dre Davis did his thing and posted a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds in addition to five dimes. Davis has been a consistent playmaker for Lawrence Central as this was the third good game in a row from him. Junior Greg Jenkins was another key contributor, picking up 12 points and six assists.
The win was the seventh in a row for the Bears and raised their record to 21-2. Indianapolis' loss pushed them down to 13-8.
Lawrence Central is on the road again on Thursday and plays against Southport. Lawrence Central won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. Indianapolis has the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome Lawrence North on Tuesday. Lawrence North has averaged 82 points over the course of their past four games, so Indianapolis might be in for a challenge.
