The Whitehorse Raiders lost against the Valley Buffalos back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Whitehorse falling 61-47. They have struggled against Valley recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Whitehorse lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lyric Phillips. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. The matchup was Phillips' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Adam Joe was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Whitehorse has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitehorse's road trip will continue as they head out to face Navajo Pine at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Navajo Pine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Whitehorse likes a good challenge. As for Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Piute at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Piute is ranked 43rd, while Valley is ranked 54th).
