The Niceville Eagles posted their closest win since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gulf Breeze and snuck past 56-53. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Niceville was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Niceville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Kimball, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Kiyah Hatcher, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Dolphins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Piper Tieman, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tieman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Jacobs, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Niceville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Gulf Breeze, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Niceville and Pace will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pace comes in on four and Niceville on five. As for Gulf Breeze, they will head out on the road to take on Crestview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crestview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Gulf Breeze is ranked 63rd).
