It was a good run, but the Page Sand Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Chinle by a score of 70-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (60), Page still had to take the loss.
Several Sand Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyree Stingley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Stingley is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Bryce Williams was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Chinle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Antwian Bahe out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Bahe scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jostaiah Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Page's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Chinle, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Page won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuba City at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Chinle won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Alchesay at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. One thing working in Alchesay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
