The Robinson Knights were the 71-56 winner over the Leto Falcons when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Robinson took a serious blow against Leto on Friday, falling 73-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Robinson has scored all season.
Dylan Russell and LaJesse Harrold certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Russell scored 17 points, while Harrold dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mickens, who scored ten points.
Robinson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Derek Delgardo, jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Leto, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Delgardo, jr's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Delgardo, III, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Robinson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Leto, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Robinson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tampa Prep at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Leto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gateway Charter at 10:20 a.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Gateway Charter is ranked 76th, while Leto is ranked 93rd).
