Baseball Recap: Potlatch Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Potlatch waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Genesee Bulldogs 16-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Loggers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Logan Carpenter made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jay Marshall, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Waylan Marshall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Potlatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Potlatch's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Genesee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potlatch will face off against Troy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genesee, they will take on Colton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
