After only 12 points in their last match, Piney Woods made sure to put some points up on the board against Poplarville on Saturday. The Piney Woods Tornadoes breezed by the Poplarville Hornets to the tune of 73-35. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jayden Banyi, who went 15 of 22 on his way to 39 points. Banyi is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kemet Ziem, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Piney Woods has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Poplarville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
