Two dominant players in Jayvon Salazar and David Meeks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The McLean Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Follett Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, McLean didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Kelton, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory. The win was just what McLean needed coming off of a 68-20 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Follett scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Darrouzett for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-25 win at home. Follett has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Follett can attribute much of their success to Julian Barton, who scored nine points along with three steals. Meeks was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
McLean's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Follett, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
McLean took a serious blow against Follett when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 78-33. Thankfully for McLean, Jayden Watson (who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
