Ashley Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Stall Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Ashley Ridge pushed their score all the way to 38 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Summerville 42-38. Ashley Ridge gained 99 more yards on the day, but it was Summerville that made the best of use of them.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Acosta, who rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Acosta was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Derrick Salley jr was in the mix too, providing Ashley Ridge with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Stall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 34-10 loss at the hands of Cane Bay. Stall was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Ashley Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Stall, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Ashley Ridge against Stall in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashley Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
