The West Grand Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Lake County 68-18 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win West Grand has managed all season.
Makaila Gifford was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Lechman, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
West Grand now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lake County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
West Grand will head out on the road to face off against Clear Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek and West Grand are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. Lake County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on DSST: Montview at 2:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. DSST: Montview is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
