Churubusco extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They fell 12-7 to Fremont. Churubusco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fremont apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bransen Hart put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Drake Richards made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Aaron Norris was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
As for Fremont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.
Like Churubusco, Fremont also got a great game from a two-way player: Isaac Perez. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Cayden Hufnagle was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Churubusco will take on Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fremont, they will head out to challenge Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
