It was a good run, but the Sparta Academy Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-28 to Edgewood Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sparta Academy has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Sparta Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamie Ellissa Deason. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Deason is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played.
Lindsey Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Edgewood Academy, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Edgewood Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Martin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Sparta Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Edgewood Academy, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 28-3.
Sparta Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Edgewood Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
