The Bowman Academy Eagles were the 68-62 winner over the Gary West Side Cougars when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bowman Academy took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gary West Side on Thursday.
Bowman Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamarie Pollard, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Branham, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bowman Academy now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Gary West Side, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will take on Voyageur Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Voyageur Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 521 points over their last seven matchups. As for Gary West Side, they will be playing at home against Hammond Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond Morton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
