The Quitman Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Quitman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Sulphur Springs is ranked 170th).
Last Friday, Quitman might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Chapel Hill an easy 56-30 victory. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Quitman in their matchups with Chapel Hill: they've now lost nine in a row.
Sulphur Springs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Rivercrest on Friday as Sulphur Springs made off with a 57-34 win. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Sulphur Springs considering their 18-point performance the game before.
Quitman now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Sulphur Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
Quitman was taken down by Sulphur Springs 56-25 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Quitman was down 35-12.
