Football Recap: Itawamba Agricultural Skates Past Mooreville with Ease

Itawamba Agricultural extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-2. They blew past the Mooreville Troopers 41-10. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season.

Itawamba Agricultural got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keshun Wilson out in front who picked up 126 receiving yards and one score. Wilson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making one tackle and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Christian Trice was another key rusher, rushing for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Itawamba Agricultural didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wilson and Tavion Young. Wilson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Mooreville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Itawamba Agricultural: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Mooreville still got an impressive performance from Kason Mathis, who rushed for 112 yards. The Troopers are 2-1 when Mathis posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Coincidentally, Itawamba Agricultural and Mooreville will both be playing Amory the next time they take the field. The Indians will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Troopers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
