The Edgewater Eagles put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jones 85-51 at home. With Edgewater ahead 51-24 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Leading Edgewater to victory were Zion Mitchell and Donovan Williams Jr.. Mitchell scored 21 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals, while Williams Jr. dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Williams Jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Sammy , who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Edgewater's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Edgewater will square off against Impact Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Impact Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Jones, they will head out on the road to face off against Windermere Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Windermere Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jones in Florida (Windermere Prep is ranked 69th, while Jones is ranked 275th).
