Frederick (Colo.) jumped out to an early lead against
Holy Family (Broomfield, Colo.) and never looked back on the way to a 21-7 victory on Saturday.
The Warriors scored seven points in the first quarter. Frederick scored on a
Jacob Sleeth touchdown run.
FHS was up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Sleeth touchdown run in the first quarter.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 14 entering the fourth.
Ryan Miller was the top performer for the Warriors. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Tigers' lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.
Frederick came into the game allowing 11.6 points per game. Holy Family's seven points were well below its season average of 33.6 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Holy Family, which notched a 43-42 victory over Erie in its previous outing. With the win FHS extended its winning streak to three games.
In a 3A Northern game next week Frederick (6-2) takes on Denver North, and Holy Family (6-2) will go up against Centaurus also in a 3A Northern game.
