Basketball Recap: Clear Falls Comes Up Short

If Clear Falls was riding high fresh off their 51-30 takedown of Brazoswood last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clear Falls Knights took a 54-40 bruising from the Clear Creek Wildcats on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Wildcats are ranked 72nd).

Despite the loss, Clear Falls still got an impressive performance from Kyndall King, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave King a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adarra Vanderford, who posted seven points.

Clear Falls' loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Clear Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clear Falls will take on Clear Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Falls is facing Clear Springs at the right time seeing as Clear Springs is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Clear Creek, they will challenge Clear Brook at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Clear Brook's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
