Mooresville Christian might have lost, but man, Gresh Warren was a machine: he posted 23 points along with seven boards and four steals. Warren's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Craney, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, International came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They really took it to GEO Next Generation for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-26 win. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Gryphons this season.
Mooresville Christian better focus on containing Peter Machado and Michael Kreutz as the pair were huge in International's win. Machado dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds, while Kreutz went 7 of 9 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Machado is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game.
International was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Mooresville Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for International, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Mooresville Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.7 points per game. It's a different story for International, though, as they've been averaging only 35.1 points. The only thing between Mooresville Christian and another offensive beatdown is International. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Mooresville Christian was able to grind out a solid win over International when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 60-53. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was International's Philip Randolph, who went 11 for 21 on his way to 25 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Mooresville Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
