Salem were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Schalick on Friday as the squad secured a 46-6 win. The success represented a nice turnaround for Salem, who in their last game suffered a tough 0-22 loss.
Salem's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 40 points in the first half. Schalick came up with 6 to make it 40-6 heading into the break. The Salem defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup. The win got them back to even at 1-1. The defeat dropped Schalick's record to 0-1.
After their action against one another, the teams are leaving the conference to test themselves against outside opponents. Next week Salem take on Burlington City at 12:00 PM. Schalick will stay at home against Audubon at 7:00 PM.
