After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Webster County, the Calhoun Red Devils were happy to have found some success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Harrison 63-19 at home. With that victory, Calhoun brought their scoring average up to 55.5 points per game.
Calhoun had a senior duo take command as Landon Bennett dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds and Owen Taylor scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Landon Church was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
The victory got Calhoun back to even at 1-1. As for South Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will take on Doddridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilmer County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilmer County and South Harrison are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
