Even though the Omaha Westside Warriors scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the Bellevue West Thunderbirds still came out on top. Bellevue West came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors and snuck past 60-57. The win was nothing new for Bellevue West as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Naomi White, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Danielle Coyer, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the loss, Omaha Westside still got an impressive performance from Kara Stricklin, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Pederson, who scored 11 points.
Bellevue West's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Omaha Westside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
Bellevue West will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millard South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 27th). As for Omaha Westside, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Crusaders at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st.
