Patagonia is 0-10 against St. David since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Lobos will challenge the Tigers at 3:45 p.m. Patagonia has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Duncan hit Patagonia with a seven-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lobos took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildkats.
Noah Gallardo put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Gallardo was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Troy Hawkins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Patagonia: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Miguel Albarron, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, St. David was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley Union on Wednesday, taking the game 7-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Like Patagonia, St. David also got a great game from a two-way player: Clark Wilson. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Pacheco, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
St. David now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Patagonia, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Patagonia came up short against St. David in their previous meeting on April 6th, falling 12-8. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
