The Grapevine Mustangs lost against the Ryan Raiders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. Grapevine fell  58-47 to Ryan. While losing is never fun, Grapevine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings  (they are ranked 502nd, while Ryan is ranked 87th).
 Despite the  defeat, Grapevine saw an underclassman step up:  David Coe  scored 24 points. That was a full 51.1% of Grapevine's points, marking the third time in a row he's  earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was  Blue Schaper, who  scored ten points along with two  steals.
 Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Ryan, the  win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grapevine will  square off against Lake Dallas at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Lake Dallas is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Ryan, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Denton at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
