After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hillcrest Academy, the Rivermont Collegiate Lions were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Moline Christian 55-18 at home.
Tahir Kaplan was a one-man wrecking crew for Rivermont Collegiate as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kaplan has scored at least 25% of Rivermont Collegiate's points. Eamon Matlock was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Rivermont Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for East Moline Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Rivermont Collegiate will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Morning Star Academy at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Morning Star Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. East Moline Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Galesburg Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Galesburg Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 531st, while East Moline Christian is ranked 256th).
