The Pacific Grove Breakers won the last time they faced the Watsonville Wildcatz, and things went their way on Friday too. Pacific Grove snuck past Watsonville with a 55-49 win.
Pacific Grove found their leader in underclassman Gabriel Valencia, who scored 16 points. Valencia hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Nimri, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Pacific Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Watsonville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Pacific Grove will head out on the road to take on North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for North Monterey County: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Pacific Grove has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Watsonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
