The Desert Pines Jaguars and the Centennial Bulldogs will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Desert Pines pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 77-56 defeat at the hands of Edgewater. Desert Pines' loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Meanwhile, Centennial had to suffer through a rough 63-35 loss at the hands of Vanden. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Centennial came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 18th in Nevada, while Vanden is ranked 92nd in California).
Desert Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Desert Pines came up short against Centennial in their previous matchup back in February, falling 74-69. Can Desert Pines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
