The Lakewood Park Christian Panthers have been a dominant force so far but will be looking to break out of a two-game mini slump. They were the victim of a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Central Noble on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lakewood Park Christian came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Central Noble is ranked 225th).
Central Noble's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Swank, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Melissa McCoy, who scored 16 points.
Lakewood Park Christian has yet to win a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-2 record. As for Central Noble, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood Park Christian will take on Woodlan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Woodlan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday. As for Central Noble, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Westview at 6:30 p.m. Westview comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
