The Mesa Verde Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Trinity Christian, falling 70-41. Mesa Verde was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mathew Garcia, who scored 14 points. Will Dickinson was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Mesa Verde's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Trinity Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Mesa Verde and the Capitals will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
