The Shenango Wildcats lost against the Laurel Spartan back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Shenango falling 22-7. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Laurel: they've now lost three in a row.
Laurel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolton Carlson out in front who picked up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. Carlson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Luca Santini, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.
Shenango's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 South Side and 6-4 Leechburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Laurel, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Shenango does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Laurel also has no future games currently scheduled.
