The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will be taking part in a tournament against the Silverado Hawks at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Rancho Mirage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Rancho Mirage is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Corona just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 18-3.
Rancho Mirage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marilyn Santana, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Silverado got the win against Palm Desert on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-3. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won three in a row.
Alexis Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Valerie Beltran was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Aryhana Shyne was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Silverado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Rancho Mirage's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Silverado, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rancho Mirage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Silverado struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
