Korbin Johnson Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Holcomb's Korbin Johnson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Johnson rushed for 250 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 136 or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Holcomb, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. Johnson and Holcomb will be playing in front of their home fans against Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mccoy Nash Delivers Best Effort of Season
Cimarron was led to victory by McCoy Nash, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Nash rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 56 receiving yards.
With the win, Cimarron broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4. It'll be Battle of the Birds when Bluejays faces off against Hugoton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ulysses had to settle for second on Friday, but Preston Hittle sure wasn't going down easily. Hittle turned in nothing short of a gem, making five total tackles.
Ulysses is on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. Hittle and Ulysses will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberal at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Julian Meraz Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Julian Meraz posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Ulysses over Goodland on Friday. Meraz picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
For the season, Meraz has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 52.8 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 30.4 receiving yards per game.

Kopper Posts Huge Game in 33-8 Victory
Thanks in part to Trace Kopper, Cimarron said goodbye to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season. Nobody could stop Kopper on Friday as he rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 102 yards and a touchdown.
This season, Kopper has thrown 2 touchdowns while averaging 88 passing yards per game.
