Gateway Christian will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Cimarron extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Rams blew past Questa 10-3. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Orion Ledoux made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Andrew Gonzales was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Urijah Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Cimarron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Questa only posted a batting average of .235.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gateway Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let Floyd get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.
Cimarron's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Gateway Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
